What is the #30DayMapsChallenge?

The #30DayMapChallenge is an annual creative sprint held every November, where the spatial community creates one map per day based on a specific theme. It’s parts cartography, data visualization and art.

My Approach: a learning experience

I used this challenge as a learning experience: a reason to try new tools and a way to organize my day in order to have the time to produce on (hopefully interesting!) map every day.

Among the tools that I experimented with, Blender really stands out, and I will keep making 3D shaded relief for future maps. I was also impressed with rayshader (maybe more with other participants productions than my own at this stage!).

Each map in detail

Upcoming

I will keep making individual entries for the maps that I enjoyed making most - whenever I have time!
